Laurence Hope has been collected by The Australian Art Gallery, The NSW Gallery, and widely collected privately in Australia, UK and California. He has had numerous exhibitions in groups and solo.

"The Balinda Jungle" is part of a series Hope did around the tropical parts of Queensland, Australia, in his travels there in the 1950's.

Laurence Hope belonged to a group of Australian painters that included John Olsen, Charles Blackman, Sydney Nolan, Arthur Boyd, John Percival among others, who were prominent over the 1950's to late 80's period of Australian art.
